About B.A. (Competitive Examinations Programme – CEP)

The B.A. (Competitive Examinations Programme – CEP) believes that ‘the sooner the better’ as far as the preparation for MPSC is concerned. Generally, the students start preparing for MPSC after their graduation and thus cannot make effective use of the very vital undergraduate years for laying strong foundation for their MPSC preparation. To overcome this shortcoming, the Academy has carefully designed the Competitive Foundation Course for the under-graduate students who aspire to achieve success in MPSC exam. This course has been designed as an introduction to the preparation for civil services exams. The students are given exposure to a broad range of topics, keeping in mind the needs and requirements of the preliminary & mains exams of MPSC. The Course is delivered by faculty members, visiting scholars and specialized practitioners in the respective fields. The topics covered include public policy and administration, politics, history, geography, economics, science and technology and current affairs. The foundation Course gives emphasis on assignments, field visits, screening of documentaries and socially relevant films, lectures by experts as well as successful MPSC candidates etc. it focuses on development of the overall personality, communication skills, competitive approach, writing skills etc. Various methods are utilized for cultivation of these skills such as group discussion, presentations, newspaper reading, book review, mock parliament, mock interviews etc. thus the course aims at enriching the overall learning experience of the students through various methodologies and making them curious about the happenings around them. Through all these efforts, the students are mainly prepared for General studies. They are also introduced to some optional subjects and are assisted in choosing the same. All these efforts go well in laying a solid foundation not only for preparation of MPSC but it proves to be extremely useful for overall personality development of students who would like to pursue any other career as well.

Objectives of B.A. (Competitive Examinations Programme – CEP)

  • (1) The foundation course of B.A. (Competitive Examinations Programme – CEP) is to teach young boys and girls on the adventurous voyage of their life to become rightfully rebellious, self-reliant, confident and independent and will make there personality creative. (2) The course is not merely for B.A. (Competitive Examinations Programme – CEP) Though conducts courses for competitive exams like MPSC, PSI, STI, ASO, Banking this course is not designed only for these students. If they do have such aspirations it will mean added advantage. (3) The course includes the training of different skills that are useful in every walk of life. (4) The present educational system is more or less a spoon feeding system. Unfortunately again, many students favour this spoon feeding. As a result, the entire generation remains substandard, ever-dependent on others, willing for compromises and in search of shortcuts. (5) The education system has nearly lost all the values like talent, new thinking, intellectual progressiveness, entrepreneurship and moulding of the character. Our Foundation course is an attempt to recreate these values. And there is nothing new, novel, impossible or unique about this. Also, it is now the era of fierce competition. Whether one likes it or not, this is today’s reality. If one wishes to succeed without resorting to cut-throat competition or mal-practices, one has to nurture pure merit, talent, character, capability and skills. This Foundation Course is an attempt in that direction. (6) The course comprises training in the basic ways and means, the methodologies, techniques and skills, which will be useful in every educational and professional career. It will be useful throughout one’s life.
